Lake Elevation: 3597 Water Temperature 53-60 F It’s a typical year as bass move on nest sites as the water warms and then pull off as water cools. If the home cove is protected from wind it stays warm and bass spawn. If strong wind cools water then spawning is delayed until the next calm period. Fishing remains good this past weekend. Bigger stripers are on the feed and you can graph schools of bait fish close by when stripers are fat. 5-6 lb fish are the norm and fly fishing over chum is promising in the Main Channel on Lake Powell holding fish on points and shelves bordering deep water 300-400 ft. plus. Fishing is excellent right especially Fly Fishing. We are catching a lot of stripers with chartreuse clausers and Bill’s Secret “Fly”….stripers are an ample size. Stripers on the Fly or on bait are in the Zone for Lake Powell Fishing right now. There are 1,000’s of fish at the dam and intake for the bait angler, but fish are marginal weight wise. For fatter fish try chumming in the 60′ range toward the backs of most Canyons.
